About Bob

Things you didn’t know about Bob:

While attending University in Potsdam, New York,
on a hockey scholarship, he worked part-time cleaning
student residence bathrooms.

His university nickname was Chico.

He has a blonde Labrador retriever
named Ringo.

He lives with a white cat that has adopted
him and Ringo.

He enjoys: playing scrabble, rock and roll dancing,
cooking and country music.

He is a huge Senators fan and often takes puck shots
at the Toronto Mayor and his Maple Leafs.

He has 4 brothers and 2 sisters living in the Ottawa area.

His parents emigrated from Italy in 1923.

He enjoys grabbing his hockey stick and lacing up for
a quick game of shinny on an outdoor rink.

During his early years in Ottawa, he was an accomplished
asphalt truck driver.

He speaks Italian and French.

As Mayor and Regional Chair he has not taken one day of sick leave.

He became a grandfather for the first time in 2005.

As Mayor of the City of Ottawa he attends approximately 600 public functions a year.
