Day 9
October 17th

"The CBC debate "

Bring on the rain!  I’m not going to feel bad about the extra treats this imagemorning at breakfast.  I had every intention of walking them off; however, I am sure everyone noticed the rain…I will walk twice as much tomorrow!!
Well, with the rain keeping me indoors, I took the opportunity to prepare for the evening’s radio and TV debate on CBC; I really hope you all had the opportunity to listen to all that was discussed.  I have proven my commitment to our city, built a solid foundation and will continue to push forward.  I will push for growth in our economy and infrastructure as our city’s numbers grow, which includes my existing light-rail plan, I will push the provincial government to bring in more effectivCity of Ottawae legislation to deal with industrial, commercial and institutional waste, I will push for community capacity building, active involvement and participation and public safety, but most importantly, I will push for the people.  CIBC World Markets stated that Ottawa "had the strongest economic momentum among the country's metropolitan areas in the first quarter." As your Mayor, I feel I have laid the foundation for a strong, prosperous city – Ottawa needs an experienced leader to manage growth onto the future.

Speaking of growth, as the rain died down, I could no longer justify not walking off a few extra treats.  Everything we attend has such tasty snacks!  By mid-afternoon I was just over 2km, I decided to take a few less rides on the elevator at the campaign office and challenged myself to a few flights of stairs.  By the end of the day, I am happy to say I am just over 4km!
