Day 10
October 18th

"St. Joseph's Blvd... "

An early start today! I began the day with a drop in to the Ottawa Community Care Access Centre at 7:30 am in the East End. I was there to participate in a volunteer recognition awards to many of the amazing people that participate in this program.image

From there I went to Gabriels Pizza on St. Josephs Blvd in Orleans to make a campaign announcement. I introduced my St. Josephs Blvd development plan which included the burying of the Hydro Wires that run up and down the street. This has been a concern for the residents and business owners of this area for some time now. After working hard on this issue for several years, I am pleased to be able to deliver for this community.

This afternoon was the Sun editorial meeting, while these meetings are always challenging, I welcome the opportunity to convey my message and my vision in any forum. The focus of this meeting, and the campaign, was light rail. Make no mistake; I, and no other candidate can bring this city light rail. City of OttawaDelaying or canceling this project all together will have the net result of ensuring that Ottawa, our nations capital, will never, or at least not in the next 20 years, have a light rail system.

In the evening I attended a reception with several of my supporters from across the city to discuss the campaign strategy and talk about the election as a whole. Just a reminder that advance polls are next week!

I finished of the day at the Barrhaven/ South-Nepean Muslim Association during a prayer break. It was a great end to the night for they were very supportive and encouraging!

Good night!
