Day 12
October 20th

Of interviews and oysters...

"This morning started with interviews. First I had an interview with a Chinese Community Newspaperdiscussing my continued support for the Chinese community and my plans for the future of the city. Later on, I had an interview with Christina Langlois from CBC French Radio answering questions about the arts and public libraries. When these interviews were over I had some time to prepare for the Kiwanis luncheon where candidates would be answering questions.image

The luncheon took place at the Chateau Laurier, a beautiful building, where myself, and the other candidates too part in the Q & A.

After answering questions and having lunch, I was off to a meeting with John Sobey and members of the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighter’s Association and Memorial Committee. It is always great to hear from the brave men and women of Ottawa’s Fire Department.

Once the meeting was over I was off to speak at the Francophone Community Receptionand then headed to the Independent Grocer in the Nepean Town Centre to support our veterans and troops with a Red Friday event. Councillor Jan Harder, Lisa MacLeod, Pierre Poilievre, and some of our community’s veterans were also at the event.

Before heading to my last stop of the night, the 10th Annual Oyster Night, I dropped in on the Ottawa South United Soccer Club banquet with Councillor Harder. I have always been a stong supporter of sports and recretaion in our community and over the next couple of days I will be releasing some of my platform ideas that will make Ottawa even more of a sports friendly city.

It was a night filled with great oysters and company and the perfect way to end the day.
